I've sent a message to Arnaud Herve through tw.o
I'll report back if he answers...

Sort of honorific seeing a topic about me only :o)

Yes I'm back in the TW community, but I'm working in green building now, with a lot of files to read everyday. Therefore you cannot expect a leading role from me here.

I think a priority would be the feature of language flags above a text to indicate the available translations.

Welcome back Arnaud!

We have a drop-down of languages. Flags are tricky because many countries share a common language.

Or maybe I don't understand your suggestion.

Best regards,

Hi Arnaud:

It's already possible, kind of hand-made if users want to add them, using a special plugin. See a real example where it's being used:

Is that what you meant?

Welcome back to TW Community, btw, after so many years :-)

I made a mistake by saying "flags". I meant the icons with two letters for the language.

This example seems to me the most usable: less clicks than a drop-down, and more "advertisement" of the international quality of the site.

Plus, by removing icons when languages are not available, user know in just onr glance which version to chose.

I don't mind the idea of this as an option (maybe even the default). But I would still like to retain the drop-down option because the size is more predictable (for design intense sites).

We would also need to figure a UI to "translate" this page which is now done in the dropdown.
