Instead of using wiki pages to keep track of tasks, the trackers will be used. Wiki pages can still be used to contain more details about a task or contain discussions.
This version will include features to help visitors read content in languages they are not that familiar with, and translate content from languages they are not that familiar with.
Machine Translation technology will be required for this.
_NOTE:_This is the kind of stuff that Alain can justify doing on his work time about 1 day per week. So maybe Iteration 1 could proceed at the same time as Iteration 0?
This implements features to allow the site's translation community to self-organize, determine priorities, etc...
Although these tasks are important, most of them CAN already be done by creating wiki pages and using them for coordination. That's why we leave them to later iterations.
Note: I consider these to be groups of features rather than iterations. I would stick to time-boxed iterations and adjust the objectives as we go.
AD: I agree. Our iterations as we wrote them are more horizontal slices of different kinds of functionalities. But not all part of a particular slice are necessarily needed to provide a particular type of functionality. Maybe we should reorganize things around a bit so that iteration 1 provides say, the most basic possible version of one or two horizontal slices. For example, we could add some basic Machine Translation gisting functionality in Iteration 1.
Old Iteration plan (not sure how much of this is still relevant)
This section presents a preliminary iteration plan for the project. It will evolve over time and should not be considered final in any way.
