Minor edits should not make translators out of date

Title: Minor edits should not make translators out of date
Function Group: (empty)
Priority: 5 high
Description: Some folks at SUMO complain that whenever someone fixes a typo or grammar mistake in English, all the other languages become labelled as "out of date".

This seems to be a major irritant because it causes uncessary work on SUMO's already overloaded volunteer translator community.

It would be better if the out of date message only appeared if at least one non-minor change was made.

Iteration: (empty)
Assigned to: alain_desilets

BUG: Creating new translation with existing name causes problems

Title: BUG: Creating new translation with existing name causes problems
Function Group: (empty)
Priority: 4
Description: Say you have a page called Alain Désilets in English. You want to translate it to French.

You Click on the Translate button, then specify French as the language, and type Alain Désilets as the name of the page (cause the page has the same name in French and English).

Tiki will tell you that this page already exists, and show you a Back button.

If you click on this Back button, and then try to create the French page with a different name, say, "Alain Désilets fr", Tiki will tell you that the Language set already contains a page for that language.

Looks like Tiki adds the page to the language set, only to find out later that it already exists. Instead, it should FIRST look to see if the page already exists, before it adds it to the language set.

In fact, it should only add the page to the language set when the page is saved for the first time (cause what if the user clicks on Cancel and never saves the page).

Iteration: (empty)
Assigned to: (empty)

Translate button is ambiguous

Title: Translate button is ambiguous
Function Group: (empty)
Priority: 5 high
Description: In principle the Translate button is supposed to be used only to create a NEW translation. But lots of people (including myself) tend to click on it for many other things like:

When looking at French that is undergoing translation from English, they click on Translate button to continue that translation.

When looking at the English page that needs an updated translated to French, they click on Translate button to initiate or continue that translation.

This tells me that the Translate button should behave more like a menu. When you click on it, you get a list of choices:

Brand new translation

Continue translation from another language

Continue translation to another language

Or something of the sort.
Using Tiki 2.2 stable branch (at http://moviments.net/ilp ).

Once you have an article created, when you click on the link to translate that article: tiki-edit_translation.php?id=NN&type=article
you can choose the name of the new article which will be the trasnlation of that one, but when you click on "Create translation" button, you are sent to a "new wiki page" interface, not to a "new wiki article" interface.
