!Objective Without translation tracking, all translations are independant and it is part of the translator's tasks to keep track of the changes and when the translated page was last updated. The objective of translation tracking is to store the translation updates in the wiki engine to allow multiple translators to contribute without having to know when the translation was last updated. !Use case # Jen visits the English version of her home city's page on wiki travel. In the page's history, she notices that the Spanish version has not been updated for 5 versions. # She clicks on ''Update Spanish version'' and is brought to the translation interface with the appropriate changes from the English version highlighted. # After applying the changes, she saves the page and continue surfing. # Two days later, Roberto visits the Spanish page. A green flag indicates that the page is up to date with the English version. !What is included in this task? * Saving the translation synchronizations in the wiki engine * Displaying synchronizations from and to other languages in the page history * Display update indications on the page (basic) !What is left out? * Synchronization structure. Translation tracking is not aware of master languages, pivot languages or any other. Site policies will need to enforce these. !How is this a step forward? * It opens the discussions on translation indication * It allows collaboration between translators
